Google is Going “Mobile-First”

In May 2016, Google announced it would be adjusting its ad platforms to accommodate a mobile-first mentality. With the increased adoption of smartphones and heavy mobile consumption, this is great news. The first of many updates to Google’s advertising network is the update of expanded text ads.

Expanded text ads are optimized for the screen sizes of the most popular smartphones and feature two headlines, each with 30 characters, and one 80-character description line. That’s nearly 50% more ad text for you to highlight your products and services.

What does this mean for you? We need to update your text ads to optimize them for Google’s mobile-first network. Please contact your media strategist to update to Expanded Text Ads.
