Traditional Media Planner/Buyer
Overview
The Media Planner/Buyer will eventually be expected to plan and execute buys across all traditional mediums, including broadcast, print and out-of-home. While experience across all these tactics is ideal, the most important thing will be the willingness and ability to learn new skills in mediums where there is no or little experience.
Responsibilities
Day-to-day management of client-related media plans and programs including but not limited to: media plan preparation, media program definition and execution and post-buy reporting and accounting.
Presentation of plans / recommendations to agency clients.
Applying an in-depth understanding of the client’s business, business rules and business processes to help effectively implement strategic media programs.
Research, negotiate and execute advertising placement in a variety of local media, including: TV, Radio, Print, and Outdoor.
Analyze media placement and results to identify the most cost-effective mix by market.
Manage material delivery in a timely, efficient manner.
Gather statistics and prepare media plans with directives to guide the buying process.
Keeps up on media trends.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Detail and client service oriented
- Self-starter
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
- Well versed in use of Microsoft Office products (or Google equivalents)
- Knowledge of media research tools and systems
- Excellent organizational skills
- Minimum 3 years planning and/or buying experience in an agency or corporate media department
